FAQ

There are a million questions to be asked regarding Jewish Ancestry, History and Culture. Here are just some of the most frequently asked.

  • What is a Jew?
A complicated question, answer coming soon.
  • What is Jewish Ancestry?
By Jewish Ancestry we at the FMJA simply mean a person having one or more Jewish Ancestors. This of course does not in and of itself make a person "Jewish". In fact the specifics of what make a person "Jewish" in current society are vauge and often unspecific but in simple terms usually includes having one of more Jewish parents or Grandparents. The study of DNA ancestry reveals that many people particularly in the America's, Europe and even Africa have Jewish ancestry and are completely unawhere of this information. We hope to reveal and shed light on this information so that people can find and understand their Jewish ancestry.
  • Where do Jews come from?
Jews - literally, at this stage of world and biblical history come from the FOUR CORNERS OF THE EARTH. The Jewish people have been dispersed by G-d himself to the four corners of the earth according to the Torah or bible because of disobediance to G-d's word. Therefore Jews as almost unique individual populations can be found on every continent and almost, if not, every country in the world. Certainly there is undisputed historical evidence of Jews in diaspora in places such as China, Zimbabwe, Eithopia, Peru, Columbia, Ireland and Afganistan, basically, wherever humans can be found you can likely find a history of Jewish persons having been resident there.
  • What color are Jews?
Jews, just like the rest of the human population as created by G-d can be in fact, any color , shade or complextion, although the most original color for Jews is known to be the color of "boxwood". Today the majority of Jews around the planet are considered to be white however there are many Jews that are brown and black in complextion.
